Week 5: Sharing the Good News – Eleanor Sanderson
Jesus calls us to share the Good News of his resurrection. When we open our hearts t the message of the gospel and draw near to God, others are drawn to him with us into his unfailing love.
Bible reading: Romans 10.14-15
But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
‘We can often live in such a success- and fear-driven culture that our minds are shaped by a harsh inner critic. Living simple lives which are shaped by loving God, loving our neighbour and loving ourselves are truly beautiful.’
Pause for Thought
1. Who was the person that shared the good news with you? What did that feel like?
2. Who in your life might God be ‘sending’ you to?
3. We often think of sharing the gospel as preaching. What are some small, everyday ways to share God’s love without using many words?
Closing prayer
Loving God, we thank you for those you sent to
bring the gospel to us. Help us to carry our faith
boldly and renew us with the good news of
eternal life in Jesus Christ. Amen.
